This week has been a whirlwind of new experiences for me, and I have been inundated by kind words from family, friends, and strangers!
My first paid writing piece, "Typewritten Wonder," was published in the May/June edition of Writer's Digest as a part of their 5-Minute Memoir series. Yesterday I finally got to a hold a copy of the magazine in my hands and see my own words in print. It's such a giddy and surreal experience to see my name in a major publication. I keep having to pinch myself to ensure this isn't all a dream!
And today, a second essay I wrote debuted on the Rabbit Room blog as a guest post. I have been a fan of the Rabbit Room and its contributors since college, and it is a dream come true to see my writing on their website! I am so honored that they accepted my work.
I am supremely touched by the many messages I have received over this past week. That people I have not met would take time out of their day - especially amid the craziness of Quarantine - to reach out to me and share their thoughts and encouragements blows my mind. I am humbled by your kindness!
I also want to again say thank you to the ladies of the Grace Writers, the writing group I have been a part of for almost two years now. Without your encouragement, love, and - of course - grace, I would not have found the courage to put my work out there in the first place.
And thank you, as always, to my family and friends who have believed in me and my dreams from day one. You've listened to my ramblings, proof-read my writing, and dug me out of the ruts of writer's block and self-doubt. I love you all dearly.
Soli Deo gloria.
There are not enough thank yous in the world,
Allie 💕
I came to you site after reading your Writer’s Digest piece. The piece was awesome and very inspiring. Congratulations!
